Auspicious timing for this year’s Homes Tour

In the midst of planning for this year’s May 29th Heritage Homes Tour, NWHPS’s Board had reason to celebrate City Council’s decision to proceed with a Queen’s Park neighbourhood heritage conservation area (HCA) implementation plan. NWHPS members Maureen Arvanitidis (president) and directors Deane Gurney and Steve North (also representing Queen’s Park Residents Association) have been part of the heritage study group that’s working with the City to examine different approaches to retaining and enhancing the character of the Queen’s Park. It is hoped that it will be used as a prototype for HCAs in other New Westminster neighbourhoods.
