May 30, 2025: The 43rd annual Heritage Homes Tour, held on May 25, 2025, welcomed nearly 900 tour-goers, volunteers, and staff. This year’s self-guided event featured 12 heritage homes and buildings in the neighbourhoods of Queen's Park, Brow of the Hill and Massey Victory Heights. Survey results show that 97% of respondents rated their experience as “excellent” or “very good.”

More than half of all ticket buyers were first-time attendees, with many travelling from across the Lower Mainland and beyond. “The variety of homes, informative docents, and overall organization made it a fantastic day,” shared one participant.

Attendees praised the wide range of architectural styles and the warm, knowledgeable volunteers at each location. For many, the opportunity to explore private heritage homes was the highlight of the day.

While the overall response was overwhelmingly positive, some feedback pointed to areas for improvement. A few guests mentioned accessibility challenges at homes with steep stairs or limited mobility access. Others suggested more detailed historical background, a higher proportion of residential properties, and an improved interactive map to help navigate the tour. Heritage New West will take all of these suggestions into consideration when planning future events.

The winner of the post-homes tour survey is D. Russell. They will receive two ticket guidebooks for New West Heritage Homes Tour 2026.

Next up: “Homes for the Holidays” is coming Sunday, December 7. Stay tuned for details and join us as we continue to celebrate the heritage that makes our community unique.

This year Heritage New West proudly presented 12 unique heritage venues for its 2025 tour, including seven private homes new to the tour or returning after a long absence. From Prairie Style to Queen Anne Revival, each home had a story to tell. This year’s theme, “On the Homefront,” marked the 80th anniversary of WWII’s end, highlighting the wartime roles of local homes and landmarks alongside the timeless charm of New Westminster’s heritage homes.
