The Reveal: HNW’s collection of local heritage artwork
It’s our (unintended) best-kept secret — Heritage New West’s collection of 38 works of art, featuring local heritage homes depicted in original drawings and watercolours and high-quality reproductions by artists Raymond Hargreaves, Jo Scott B, Robin Ward and Angela Au Hemphill. The artworks are professionally framed and well-preserved over their 40+ years – sometimes in storage, and, for a long time, gracing the halls of Westminster Savings Credit Union.
Some of the featured prints honour outstanding building projects that won the prestigious Royal City Builders Award. Sponsored by Westminster Savings Credit Union, the award was presented annually by the City of New Westminster and the Chamber of Commerce from the 1980s into the early 2000s.
We’re offering the legacy for acquisition to support New West students
The time has come to offer these original drawings, watercolors, and reproductions for sale to interested members of our heritage community. All the proceeds will go to an annual scholarship for New Westminster Secondary School students.
The Plan: We are approaching homeowners whose homes are featured in the collection, extending them the opportunity to acquire their respective artwork. Following this, we will open the sale to the public and provide purchase information and updates through our website, HNW newsletter, and Facebook page.
